Since 1980, the Pinch Hitter Program has been a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to the Atlanta community. Pinch Hitters is B’nai Brith’s annual community service project where volunteers from the Atlanta Jewish Community “go to bat” for non-medical hospital personnel on Christmas Day. This is so our Christian brethren can spend the holiday at home with their families. In past years, hundreds of volunteers like you helped make our Pinch Hitter Program better and better. This year, we will be staffing eleven hospital or assisted living facilities on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, and we need your help.
You can choose a shift at one of the following facilities. Shifts generally run from 7 to 11 (early morning), 11 to 3 (mid-day), or 3 to 7 (afternoon). Please note that these times are approximate and may vary by hospital and/or department. For example, Roswell Nursing & Rehab will have only the first shift available and Sunrise at Huntcliff will have just the first and 2nd shifts available. Check the sign-up form to see which shifts are now filled.
FACILITIES SERVED: Berman Commons, Brookdale Dunwoody, Brookdale Big Creek Roswell, The Cohen Home, Roswell Nursing & Rehab Center, Somerby at Sandy Springs, St. Joseph’s Hospital (flu shot needed), Sunrise at Huntcliff, William Breman Jewish Home and Georgian Lakeside and VA Medical Center. (Note: pre-teens are allowed with parents at William Breman Jewish Home, The Cohen Home and Brookdale Big Creek only.)
