Donating Blood is one of the most important things you can do for yourself as well as for others who need your blood.  Why is it important to donate blood?

  • Red blood cells carry oxygen to all parts of the body.
  • Red blood cells are needed for patients experiencing blood loss, such as accident victims, surgical patients or those suffering from illnesses.
  • There is a constant, often critical need for blood, especially Type O blood.
  • Type O negative donors have the universal blood type and their red cells can be safely transfused to any patients.  Type O positive can be transfused to all positive types of blood.
  • All blood types re needed to save lives.

Speed your donation time by registering using Rapid Pass which offers donors a way to complete their pre-reading and donation questions online from the comfort and privacy of their home, reducing the time they spend at blood drives by as much as 15 minutes.
