“Using Feminist Language as a Tool to Teach Women to Change and Strengthen Israeli Society” with Devorah Evron
Rabba Devorah Evron is daily empowering Israeli women towards social equality and progressive leadership as Director of the Elga Stulman Women’s Institute for Jewish Studies at HaMidrasha Educational Center located on Oranim College.
Using the platform of gender and Judaism, Evron teaches in various forums, including study groups, community centers and women’s organizations. In the Rabin pre-military “mechina” leadership academy and other mechinot, Evron educates and inspires young women to seek opportunities for influential and non-traditional posts in military service, and to strive for standards of gender equality in the IDF.
Devorah is a Halacha scholar, a graduate of the Morot Halacha program at Beit Morasha and a psychodrama therapist. An Orthodox Jewish woman and frequent media guest, she uses Jewish-Feminist language as a tool with which women can strengthen themselves and their communities, and change the face of Israeli society.
Devorah received her Rabbinic Ordination from the Beit Midrash for Israeli Rabbis a program of HaMidrasha and the Shalom Hartman Institute.
