April 5, 2017: Atlanta, GA — Jewish National Fund’s (JNF) 14th Annual Jack Hirsch Memorial Breakfast celebrating Israel’s 69th anniversary will feature two fantastic all-star speakers. The breakfast on Tuesday, May 2, will take place at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter Hotel and start at 7:55 a.m. sharp and end promptly at 9:00 a.m.
This year’s event will feature Ron Blomberg, Major League Baseball’s first designated hitter and the “great Jewish hope” of the New York Yankees. He will receive JNF Atlanta’s prestigious Cantor Isaac and Betty Goodfriend Community Service Award in recognition of his leadership as a Jewish role model in sport and community involvement.
“Being Jewish has always been an honor for me. It means that I have in my heritage, a legacy to follow. If I see something that I can do to make a difference in the world, then I feel I have an obligation to do so. It is very important to me that the kids I help have a strong role model to look up to.”
Russell F. Robinson, JNF’s CEO, will give the keynote address for the breakfast’s first time. Robinson is a visionary who was ranked “26” on the Jerusalem Post’s “50 most influential Jews in the world.” Under his leadership, JNF has become a top-rated charity in the U.S., and the leading organization for the land and people of Israel.
Jack Hirsch, for whom the JNF breakfast in Atlanta is named, loved Israel and throughout his life invested in JNF’s ability to protect the land and people of Israel. He was a survivor of the holocaust and a practical man who served JNF as he ran his CPA and real estate investment business. Today, Jack’s widow, Gladys, serves as a member of JNF’s Board of Trustees and, with her sons Stuart and Bryan, carries forth Jack’s memory and passion for the Jewish State.
The Jack Hirsch Memorial Breakfast provides the community of Atlanta the opportunity to connect with each other and with Israel in meaningful ways by sharing the impact of JNF’s work, with sponsorship opportunities, and by recognizing members of the community for their outstanding service. The event has been underwritten by generous sponsors and is JNF’s gift at no charge to the Atlanta community on Israeli Independence Day. Sponsorship opportunities start at $1,000 and are fully tax deductible.
Registration is now open at is jnf.org/atlbreakfast. This complimentary event is open to the community and a kosher breakfast will be served.
The breakfast will take place at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North Hotel, 7 Concourse Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30328. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Beth Gluck at bgluck@jnf.org or 404.236.8990 x851.
